Investing in Quality Child Care – A Quick Video Message from BrightSpark

Community Centric Fundraising Philanthropy

Why the Quality of Child Care Matters

Hey friend!

Today, we want to share why access to affordable, high-quality child care is so crucial not just for families, but to the child care providers we support and to all of us across King and Pierce Counties.

In this short video, we highlight how investing in child care professionals leads to high-quality care that lays the foundation for a lifetime of learning, well-being, and opportunity for our youngest community members.

Quality care means creating environments where children feel safe, loved, and inspired to grow. It’s about skilled providers who nurture creativity and foster critical skills, enriching activities that spark curiosity and build confidence, and giving families peace of mind, knowing their children are in caring, capable hands.

At BrightSpark, we believe every child deserves more than just care—they deserve quality care. When children receive high-quality care, they are better equipped to succeed in school and beyond. Families thrive, knowing their children are getting the best possible start in life, and communities grow stronger, supported by resilient, well-prepared individuals.

We proudly support child care providers through our Coaching Department, offering tailored, flexible coaching on topics like business basics, developmentally appropriate practices, and anti-bias curriculum. Additionally, our Professional Development department provides a range of opportunities to earn STARS hours, with in-person and virtual trainings, workshops, book studies, and conferences—all meeting Washington State’s early learning requirements.

Together, we’re ensuring every child has access to the high-quality care they deserve. Take a moment to watch this video and see how your support is helping us raise the standard of child care in our communities.

From July 2023 to June 2024

Over 2,000 child care providers participated in one-on-one and group coaching, strengthening their ability to deliver high-quality care. Nearly 1,500 providers turned to BrightSpark for their professional development needs, benefiting from over 150 trainings and more than 380 hours of instruction. This dedication to continuous learning reflects our shared commitment to excellence in child care.

By investing in the development of child care professionals, we’re not just supporting providers—we’re building a future where every child has access to nurturing, skilled caregivers who inspire growth, curiosity, and confidence.
