2024: A Year in Review
Hey friend!
At BrightSpark, we’re committed to helping child care programs, and the children they serve, reach their full potential.
We’re honored to support Early Learning Professionals across King and Pierce Counties, along with the children and families in their care. Child care providers play one of the most critical roles in our communities by creating safe, nurturing, and loving spaces where children can learn and grow.
Strengthening Providers, Supporting Families
In 2024, our Early Learning Coaches partnered with over 2,100 child care providers to assist with licensing, offer professional development opportunities, and provide one-on-one and group coaching tailored to meet the diverse needs and languages of our early learning community.
Our Professional Development Team delivered more than 380 hours of training and classes, covering topics such as child development, social-emotional and behavioral health, self-care for providers and families, and best practices for creating positive classroom environments.
Making Child Care More Accessible
This year, BrightSpark proudly became the administrator of the Best Start for Kids Child Care Subsidy Program. Through this program, we distributed over $14.5 million to help more than 900 families and 1,400 children afford high-quality care in King County.
Looking Ahead
We know that high-quality early learning is key to helping children start school ready to succeed. In 2024, we took bold steps to empower providers, uplift families, and create brighter futures—and we’re just getting started.

And that’s just the beginning!
