Creating positive outcomes for children and communities

Founded in 1990, BrightSpark works with families, child care providers, community organizations and advocacy groups in order to improve the quality of early childhood care in our region. Serving both King and Pierce counties, we offer over a dozen unique programs supporting children, families, and providers in almost every aspect of the early learning experience. At BrightSpark, we believe that we are stronger together, we seek continuous learning and improvement, and that we honor community strengths. Our mission is to nurture and sustain child-centered, anti-racist early communities so that every child can have a great start in school and in life.

We are committed to advancing equity for all children.

BrightSpark stands in solidarity with our community and partners as a proactive leader in the movement to dismantle systems and policies that actively harm Black and Brown children. We advocate for equitable and high quality childhood education that centers antiracist, pro-Black and Brown narratives making every child visible and valued.

Our Partners

We couldn’t do the work that we do without the support of the community organizations, small businesses, corporations, and non-profit organizations that partner with us. Our partners help us develop our programs and expand out reach to serve even more children, families, caregivers, and providers in King and Pierce counties.
