Description
There are many styles of leadership. Most of us have 1-3 of them that we feel comfortable and confident wearing (like our everyday clothes) and others that we seldom or rarely put on (like our clothes for special occasions). In this workshop, we will learn more about all of the major leadership styles – including the advantages and disadvantages of each – and how to make situational use of styles to increase our effectiveness as leaders.
Learning Objectives
After reviewing information about the situational theory of leadership and its connection with Daniel Goleman\’s leadership styles model of situational leadership, participants will be able to identify their own styles profile by completing a six styles quiz. LO#2. After reviewing information and viewing video clips about each of the six styles of leadership (their strengths, disadvantages and optimal situational deployment ), participants will be able to critique and fine tune their own styles profile by sharing their insights in breakout rooms and whole group.
