During this session particpants will use the NAEYC article, \”After reading the article: “Caring about Caring: What Adults Can Do to Promote Young Children’s Prosocial Skills\” by Marilou Hyson and Jackie L. Taylor to reflect on how to identify intentional language and actions that can be used to promote children\’s prosocial development.
Learning Objectives
Participants will sharpen their understanding of “professionalism” and learn new practices to improve their professional style and have a more meaningful work experience.After reading the article: “Caring about Caring: What Adults Can Do to Promote Young Children’s Prosocial Skills participants will engage in reflective conversation to identify intentional language and actions they can take to promote children’s prosocial development. The reflective discussion will focus on building relationships with children and families, modeling prosocial behavior, building classroom community, stating behavior expectation, and supporting families.
