In our modern world, many people have a disconnect between where their food is grown (Farm) and the food they consume for their meals. (Table). Early learning programs, both center-based, and family home childcare have a unique window of time to strengthen healthy habits for young children and families in order to reconnect the broken line between farm and table. The Farm to Table: Connecting Together training will peek into seasonal and culturally relevant menu planning, present ideas for hands-on experiences exploring a diversity of food through gardening, cooking activities and classroom activities. The training will also focus on strategies for engaging parents and communities. The training will share experiences from two providers in KING County, who are currently in the Ecotrust Farm to ECE Institute 2024-2025.
